Save the Date: LIT-SIS Roundtable on Generative AI at AALL

LIT-SIS is excited to invite you to a Roundtable at this year’s Annual Meeting in Hynes-202, Sunday, July 16, between 12:45pm and 1:45pm. This year’s Roundtable is titled Generative AI in the Legal Profession and will center on the recent explosion of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Bing Chat, as well as law-focused tools such as Casetext’s (recently purchased by Thomson Reuters) CoCounsel. Discussion will focus on strategies that librarians are using in educating their users, as well as strategies for engaging with these technologies in their own jobs, and how we can prepare for future developments. Our moderated roundtable topics will be as follows:

  • Generative AI in legal education
  • Generative AI in legal research
  • Impact of generative AI on legal aid and access to justice
  • Generative AI and legal tech competency
